Hanging out with DJ Shadow

We had a bit of a group outing last night, as we got on board the Oxjam fun bus to go and campaign for Oxjam at DJ Shadow’s last live show of the year down in London. Basically, this meant that we set up a stall at the gig and were able to talk to all the hundreds of Shadow fans about what he’s been doing for Oxjam and how they can do their bit, as you can see from the pictures.

The show itself was pretty spectacular – loads of big-screen visuals, a special guest appearance from Gift of Gab (who even pulled off ‘A To G’ – check him out here if you’ve not had the pleasure already), and as usual it kicked off during an extended version of ‘Organ Donor’.

And to cap it off, we got to catch up with Shadow backstage after the show, which was extraordinarily exciting for me as a long-time fan. Glad to report he’s all fired up to do even more for Oxjam in the future after his trip to Kenya with us, and that he’s a top bloke all round.

Oxjam and XFM team up!

Excitement all round at Oxjam HQ today, as we’ve teamed up with our friends at Xfm to offer a total of 50,000 big ones to help you put on your Oxjam event.

We’ll be providing up to 200 Oxjam event organisers with 250 quid each towards the cost of putting on their event, meaning that you’ll be able to raise even more to help fight poverty around the world. Even better, the artists who perform at the Xfm Oxjam shows will also have the chance to be featured on Xfm.

All you have to do is let us know all about the event you’re planning here. You can apply until 18 August, at which point we’ll get together with XFM and pick out some fantastic events that we can help to make even better!
